Pilotfish helps Keolis buses go On-Line

The Pilotfish system is built on the on-board IT platform developed in the EBSF project.

Pilotfish has signed an agreement with the international bus operator Keolis.

An on board IT platform including an Android driver display is being installed in over 100 buses. The Pilotfish system is built on the work performed in the UITP and European joint project EBSF. The system enhances operations of on-board IT, increases profitability and is, thanks to the work in EBSF, well positioned to become an efficient industry standard.

Keolis won last year procurement of the bus services in the district Hisingen in Gothenburg, Sweden. On 16th June, the company begins operation of 114 buses. Keolis has now signed a three year agreement with Pilotfish to deliver IT platform to Keolis Gothenburg Buses.

In modern buses there are many different IT systems installed such as video, GPS, signage and ticketing systems. Previously, the lack of coordination between systems caused high operating and communication costs”, says Tomas Gabinus, CEO of Pilotfish.

Tomas Gabinus explains “The operator connects subsystems and subsequently adds applications to the common platform. The user then receives information about the IT systems and bus status, which facilitates maintenance and service for the operating personnel. Therefore, it increases reliability, allowing more buses to be running in traffic.”

“I am glad we can do business together. Finding a partner who brings expertise, experience and innovation is important for us” says Karl Orton, Business Area Director at Keolis in Sweden. “The Pilotfish offer is based on an industry standard which is a  growing momentum that more operators use and it is well in line with our vision for the future of Keolis”, concludes Mr Orton.

KEOLIS has around 6,300 employees in Sweden. The business concept is to offer an attractive, locally adapted and environmentally friendly urban transport and thus increase the use of public transport.

PILOTFISH NETWORKS AB offers systems and applications to bus operators and authorities in Europe. The company is based in Gothenburg and is set for an international expansion. Pilotfish product is an extension of a pre-standard as developed in the European cooperation project EBSF.
